O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
1 Chronicles 16:34 (KJV)
I have so many thoughts of gratefulness right now. Some are tiny whispers of peace, and some are so enormous that my heart is overflowing with joy. During November and looking forward to the celebration of our Savior’s birth, I tend to reflect on the past year, and fortunately, I feel completely blessed. Family, friends, fellowship….all close to my heart.
One adventure I’m grateful to have experienced during this past year is a backpacking trip with my husband to Lake Hessie in the High Unitas Wilderness of Utah. Over 50 years ago, this location was one of my first backpacking experiences. While we lived in Wyoming many years ago, we hiked back to the lake a few times.
But our recent August return was after an absence of nearly twenty-five years. We noted a few changes. Much larger trailhead parking lot. Many more hikers on the trail. And other groups were camping at the quiet lake. We did remembered the trail fairly well as it followed a rushing river, then climbed a long uphill section before arriving at our camping spot. The lake is still beautiful. And we saw moose….as we always do at this memorable place.
I hope these few photos of our adventure give you a moment of peaceful enjoyment viewing His majesty.
